I would like to begin with a disclaimer: I am about as flexible as a board, and as graceful as a bull in a china shop. So needless to say this shoot was a bit of a foreign concept to me and I was sore just thinking about how strong and flexible these ladies were. That being said, it was also one of the coolest things that I have had the opportunity of shooting so far.

We met up this Sunday at the Krav Maga Studio in Raleigh, where this event was graciously hosted by Bonsai Studio LLC and coordinated by Alexandra Petkus. Hair and Makeup was provided by Chalae' Lindsey (Hair) and Pi Leonard (Makeup). This was an amazing opportunity to work with some incredibly talented gymnasts as well as network and learn from some other photographers. I would especially like to thank Craig Musze, Bonye Talbot and Marcus Johnson for their assistance with some of these shots,Jim Clark Stevenson for letting us all mooch his backdrop and also my amazing sister (in-law) Betsy, who carried around lights/backdrops and dealt with my shenanigans all day.
